We are living in a time where a powerful paradigm shift is unfolding within maternal healthcare and the U.S. birthing industry.

Our country has the highest rate of maternal mortality of all developed countries and it continues to increase;
yet our maternal healthcare system is a $111 billion industry with the most advanced technologies available.
There are deep misalignments within hyper-medicalized models of care,
leading both providers and parents to wonder, what are we missing?

  1. trust in physiological childbirth

  2. informed consent

  3. evidence-based practices

  4. maternal authority & decision making

  5. diversity/equity in healthcare & birth workers

    These are the values rewriting the frontier of the modern, holistic approach to maternal healthcare - a paradigm that integrates the traditions of midwifery with the emergent technologies of obstetrics.

These are the values that sit at the core of my practice as a birth worker,
& what I aim to instill within every family I serve,

No matter the provider or environment you chose for your birth journey, these values can and should be available to you -
through self-advocacy, the support of your doula, and hopefully from your provider.

Birth rights are human rights.

Anytime between preconception & postpartum is the right time to dive into this work.
Let’s learn together.
